Hi everybody! How have you been? Today I will take you on my journey of creating a podcast. Hope you enjoy ;)
I am sure all of you heard about podcasting.Wikipedia defines it as "the preparation and distribution of audio files using RSS feeds to the devices of subscribed users". In our Educational Technologies class, we were assigned to create a podcast. We had 4 options;
1-Creating a vox-pop
2-Improving the world (Individual)
3-Creating a chant/song (Individual or PW)
4-A sound-rich story (PW)
I chose option two. I used the website vocaroo to record my voice. The website is amazing . It does not have any complicated steps. You just have to press the record button and talk. That is it.
I was a bit stressed while doing the task because I was just so focused on having the perfect pronunciation. As you all know, it is not fun to hear your own voice. However, apart from that, it was very easy. Writing the script and getting the ideas was really challenging and fun.
As a future teacher candidate, I think I would use this assignment. This task makes you see your own mistakes and work on them while listening to the recording. It can also aid the students in communicating and expressing their ideas. As for the disadvantages, maybe students might just only focus on making the pronunciation perfect instead focusing on presenting their ideas.
